Sixty Years on a Line: Trap Lines, Fire Lines, Survey Lines, Cruise Lines

It is difficult to take a lifetime of adventures and experiences and then try to assemble it all in a document that can draw the interest of a reader. This is especially hard when the author was doing more daydreaming about fox trapping and rabbit hunting than paying attention to pronouns and sentence structure in High School English class. Not having any formal Journalism classes in college also increases the difficulty of trying to do this manuscript.I recall taking a Technical Writing class somewhere along the line, but most have been forgotten. I do not have any sort of degree in Journalism, writing or English. As a matter of fact I don’t have a degree in anything, but what I have is a lifetime of experiences, living most of my life in rather remote isolated areas. The intent of the book is not to be a best seller or to make a million dollars, but to document my adventures experienced with 60 years on a line. Back in the early 1980s, I wrote several articles pertaining to trapping and was successful to have these published in a national outdoor magazine. An article I wrote on fire lookout life was also published in a national magazine. These articles will be included as chapters in this book. I never did anything outstanding or important in my life. The goal is to relate a somewhat simple life spent living and working wild remote places. I was never a rich man by monetary values, but the outdoor experiences made up for that.
